The 1.10.0 software release is for both the Golden Eagle and Teal 2. It updates both the Air Vehicle and the Ground Control System. This release should be considered critical for any systems that have not been updated to 1.9.2. It should be considered highly recommended for all systems. The update will improve the pairing experience significantly. It incorporates improvements to video recording, the implementation of Follow Me Mode and the importing of GeoPDFs. In addition it includes user experience improvements that relate to time synchronization, WiFi connection, RID reconnection and warning communications to the user. Finally the update disables easy or accidental access to manual flight mode which will reduce the likelihood of unexpected flight behavior.

The 1.9.2 Teal 2 software release resolves a safety critical issue that can cause un-commanded movement potentially leading to un-commanded flyaway of the UAV. In addition, the release increases the robustness of the Teal 2 firmware update systems to allow for greater reliability of firmware updates. It is recommended that ALL Teal 2 UAVs be upgraded to software release 1.9.2 to address this issue.

This is a significant release that improves safety, reliability, and performance. The most significant improvements include flight stability, network quality, and media quality. The main new features are stealth mode, new Teal settings application, and RID support.
This is a critical firmware update. Teal recommends updating the firmware to version 1.6.0 before the next flight. Use the online Updating System Software / Firmware Instructions to upgrade to 1.6.0 system for both the vehicle and TAC.
Teal TAC software and firmware automatically update when the TAC connects to a Wi-Fi network. Rebooting the tablet after connecting to Wi-Fi forces the software update. This may not be ideal if it delays a mission or affects anticipated battery pack charge usage. We suggest performing the update as soon as possible for optimal system performance and to prevent the automatic updates from interfering with any mission needs.
